![]() ![]() (Have not decided on the Amiga version as to whether it will be a commercial release or just a working release for download)īut back to your question, when things get released freeware sometimes people steal your code, your ideas etc etc. I am now finishing up a major re-write for release commercially for both PC and Amiga of this title. The reason is I want to retain full control and ownership over the idea, the copyrights and trademarks.įor example, one title was an Amiga best seller. ![]() I have released a few titles from my Amiga days freeware but for the most part my products and code have not been released as freeware. If they are no more imressive at a deeep level of system processing then that are lame. Great we have the storage capacity and processing power to make huge programs, whatever. Why, because the new generationm was not even properly exposed to the last generatrion and the outcome is weak and bloated code with a weak future. I know that if the games I loved betst are written for a 8 or 16 bit computer system of the 80's, that the software of the 90's and 2000's should blow it away but it does not. Heros we see none of it today on a grand scale enough to over power the software giants (who suck), and give us little to work with. However even though movies have been made of such hackers and non-conformist Well, that is up to the people who program for a living, give us all a substantial choice over MS and make the world a better place. However, what else can we do if no real solution is reached but bow to his extremely good marketing and give up on what we really want from software. I know full well, bill gates is a wonderfull marketing engineer and that his companies actual software brilliance has been ripped off from every other platform, and is inferior to the originals. I run a Windows system not because I like Windows better that anything else, but because there is far more free software and free support that anything else on earth at this time and it is more compatable, because more of the global community have bought in to it that anything else, saddly. Learning form the PC is possible, it has much free software that on other systems cost money to use. So why do these authors of software from a decade or more ago wish to gaurd their code so selfishly. I use it almost every day in emulation, on my 2.4ghz PC, but as far as a sales market it is dried up. The message is long lost from my short term memory (HE,HE), however the point was that the 68k processor is long gone. We cannot include registered programs into AmiKit without the permission of the appropriate authors.īut you can help! If you (personally) know someone who programmed an useful application, try to ask him about the possibility to provide us with a full version and permission to include it with AmiKit. However the authors of such a programs decide, not we. I would also love to see more full registered programs included with AmiKit, especially those that are not available for sale nor developed anymore. However they also said that the future distribution as well as development and support of IBrowse will be handled directly by the IBrowse development team. Yes, I remember the IOSpirit, the distributor of IBrowse, quit the Amiga market several months ago. I don't have such an information that IBrowse is not going to be developed any longer. Hi Eric and welcome to AmiKit Support Forum.
